Lessons for Our Children

Children learn from lessons.

Lessons can be the result of listening to what leaders say, and can be the result of watching what leaders do.

Leaders can be good for our children, and can be bad for our children.  It depends on who they are, and on what lessons they teach.  Some people think Martin Luther King, Jr. was a good leader who taught a good lesson (Don’t judge people by the color of their skin).  Other people think the opposite, and think Louis Farrakhan is a good leader who teaches a good lesson (Judge people by the color of their skin).  Some people think St. John Paul II was a good leader who taught a good lesson (Abortion is murder).  Other people think the opposite, and think Joe Biden is a good leader who teaches a good lesson (Abortion at will for any or no reason at any time up to instant of birth is a woman’s unquestionable right to choose).

Some people think teachers teach our children both sides of polar-opposite lessons, without influencing our children one way or the other.  Some people think the opposite.

We likely all agree that not all teachers are identical.  Not all teachers teach our children identical lessons.  Who among us cannot remember having exemplary teachers, and also having teachers who never should have received tenure.  Yet, tenure guarantees that our children will be taught by all of them, the good and bad among them.

The Attorney General announced that the FBI will investigate and punish parents who too loudly criticize school boards.  Some people think the lesson is that it’s the beginning of the end for domestic terrorists.  Some people think the lesson is that it’s the beginning of the end for parenting, along the road to fascism.

Because all teachers are not identical, we know that some teachers teach some children some lessons, and other teachers teach other children other lessons, and other teachers don’t teach any children anything.  The lesson from our leaders is that the third option in that list is fine and dandy for our children in Baltimore and Chicago.

All this brings us to the core question.  Which teachers will teach which children whatever, when it comes to sex, gender, gender identity, hormone treatment, body mutilation, abortion, right to life, morality, sin, biology (something no teacher taught to our newest Supreme Court Justice), and LGBTQ++++++++++?  Will this question be answered by “Don’t Say God” and “Don’t Say Man Or Woman” laws?  Will it be answered by “Say Tranny” and “Say Genderqueer” laws?

These are unanswered questions, silenced questions, questions that result in our leaders shouting “racist”, questions whose non-answers allow our leaders to teach our children whatever lessons they like, without our knowledge and consent.
